ELEKS quickly built a team to support Aramex’s end-to-end product development needs from ideation through to implementation. We engaged specialists in business analysis, product design, software architecture, data science, software development, quality assurance, and implementation to manage each element of the projects’ needs.
Our team developed an optimized UX and improved the performance of the company’s site, aramex.com, using the ASP.net framework and PHP scripting language. Our team helped the company deliver localized experiences that are optimized for the visitor’s region and device, leading to recognition through Sitefinity’s Site of Quarter Q1 2017 Award.
ELEKS has worked to develop internal-facing applications that support the company’s operations and improve visibility for decision-making, including solutions for integrated logistics, capacity planning, international and domestic express delivery, and freight forwarding.
We custom-built a mobile app that empowers Aramex’ entire sales team to share opportunities and map out priorities, helping them gain efficiency and close more sales deals.
Our customer-facing app, Aramex Mobile, gives end customers the ability to get real-time updates into their delivery status and manage their delivery experience using their mobile devices.
We helped Aramex get the technology in place to launch its flagship program, Shop & Ship, which makes it easy for shoppers to take advantage of international shipping programs in Aramex’ 33 shipping destinations. Hundreds of thousands of shoppers have signed on to the brand’s Shop and Ship program, creating significantrevenue for the brand.
Product development approach
Before moving into product development, our team completed a comprehensive product design process involving numerous research and user interviews with four onsite visits to the Aramex office in Amman. ELEKS experts took a collaborative approach to the projects, bringing their own insights and ideas to the table, making it easy for Aramex to move with agility through the product development process.
Big Data storage optimization
We enabled Aramex to migrate a portion of their IT infrastructure to the cloud, and created a proof of concept of a Big Data warehouse (DWH) in Azure Cloud, where the company could store their historical shipment data. After migrating their on-premises DWH to the cloud and integrating it with their operational systems, they’re able to access regular data updates for higher visibility across their entire app ecosystem. We also supported them with migrating and updating several data analytics models to predict demand, transit time, and consignee locations.
