Refining the vision
We proposed an alternative option to the original vision of multiple mobile-native apps. The resulting solution would be a thin-client database solution for web, made to consolidate pre-admission assessment data offline and then upload it when the medical facility’s network was next available.
Architecture upgrade
We implemented architecture enhancements that helped Fleming-AOD streamline and optimize the product development process for its PAI. The ELEKS team also reconfigured the tool’s architecture to enable speedier performance, meaning that it could process the data of 10,000 patients in a matter of seconds, rather than hours.
No hardware lock
The new web app was built to allow any computer or tablet connected to the Internet to act as a terminal for the PAI. This meant that, for the large part, Fleming-AOD’s clients didn’t require any additional hardware or IT budget to implement the solution.
SaaS distribution model
With a subscription-based system, updates can be easily and quickly applied from a centralized location with no on-site maintenance or update distribution needed. Our experts also enhanced and upgraded the component of the system that exports data from other systems for analysis.
New market opportunities
Fleming-AOD needed a tried-and-trusted partner to help it make the strategic segue into the long-term acute-care facility market. With our experience, we were able to help it evolve its systems so that it could collect data in line with the specific industry requirements that apply to this niche facility.
Within a four-week period, we were able to upgrade the core functionality of the PAI app – a process previously estimated to take four months. ELEKS continues to work with Fleming-AOD to modernize and evolve its product with new features and enhanced performance while maintaining its resilience in terms of regulatory compliance.
Thanks to the modernizations we made to its systems and the implementation of a cross-platform remote patient assessment web solution, Fleming-AOD’s development time was four times faster than initially estimated. What’s more, we redesigned its architecture to enable straightforward, centralized updates to the PAI, thereby allowing it to evolve its product more easily and cost-effectively.
By working to and exceeding Fleming-AOD’s tight timeline, we helped it become one of the first solution providers in the long-term acute-care market to meet new industry compliance regulations.
